30 Years and Counting

ON OUR ANNIVERSARY, WE CELEBRATE BOTH NEWLY FORMED AND LONG-STANDING PARTNERSHIPS.

by Keith Bradley
President, Ingram Micro North America

Ingram Micro has been leading the technology channel since its inception in 1979. In this, our 30th anniversary year, we want you to know how deeply we appreciate our partnership with you. Our success is built on yours, and we get excited when your business is thriving.

As we pave the way for 30 more years of doing business together, one of our goals includes helping you find rainbows in these stormy economic conditions.

Toward that end, we're looking at new technologies, market adjacencies and IT services -- opportunities that are surfacing regardless of the economic climate. In this issue of the Channel Advisor, we're highlighting several of these new technologies, including server virtualization, blade servers for SMBs and WAN optimization. All can add new income and are worth considering in your business framework.

In addition to products that can improve your bottom line, we're looking at operating efficiencies that save you money. As our cover story suggests, managed services can provide a "ray of sunshine" even in rough economic weather. If you haven't investigated their effective use, turn to p. 12 to learn more.

Over the past 30 years, we've been at the forefront of ensuring that new technologies get to the right place at the right time, and equipping you with the knowledge you need to sell and maintain them. Since the life cycle for new technology is so short, it's always good to educate yourself about what's on the horizon. To learn about developments in power monitoring and management for green IT, see "New Ways to Stay Cool".

Whether you're a new or long-standing Ingram Micro partner, your presence alongside us matters. Please join us as we celebrate 30 years in this industry -- and help us look forward to the next 30.
