Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0

The next generation of Symantec AntiVirus redefines endpoint security with the multilayered protection customers need.

Most customers already have antivirus protection, such as Symantec AntiVirus. While antivirus protection is an important foundation to securing desktops, laptops and servers, today's evolving threat environment calls for proactive, layered protection.

Faster, more powerful threats evolve constantly, raising risks that a new worm or virus will compromise information and networks before it can be analyzed and blocked. This requires comprehensive protection from unknown, difficult-to-catch, malware and zero-day threats. And unmanaged, out-of-compliance endpoints present risks of unknown proportion as they attempt to access the network, regardless of perimeter defenses.

In addition, Symantec's research indicates that customers are looking to simplify security through a singleagent architecture, a single management console and a smaller memory footprint than is possible in a mixed environment of point products -- all without increasing security costs.

Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0 and Network Access Control 11.0 are designed to meet these requirements in the changing threat landscape, says Kevin Murray, senior director of endpoint security product marketing at Symantec. "Armed with Symantec Endpoint Protection, partners have a compelling case to perform security assessments, upgrade AntiVirus customers and sell new prospects on the unparalleled level of unified protection."

Beyond Symantec AntiVirus
Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0 combines Symantec AntiVirus with advanced threat prevention in a single, lightweight agent, delivering comprehensive defense against malware for laptops, desktops and servers. Integrating leading-edge technology from the Sygate, Whole Security and Veritas acquisitions, Endpoint Protection combines Symantec AntiVirus and antispyware technologies with desktop firewall, intrusion prevention and device control. The result is robust protection against both known and unknown threats, such as zero-day attacks.

Symantec Network Access Control 11.0 operates under the same agent and management console, delivering advanced, multilayer endpoint security for both managed and unmanaged endpoints. The combined solution provides:

  • Technology that anticipates threats, rather than reacting to them.
  • Full-spectrum security and device control in a single solution.
  • Layered endpoint protection easily extended to remote offices.
  • Access controls that enforce security policy across a broad range of network infrastructures.
  • Security policy settings customizable by user and location.

What's the bottom line? These solutions reduce the cost and complexity of security management against established and evolving threats -- even insider threats. And with bundles for smaller businesses and enterprise customers, there's a solution extensible for every customer environment.

A Growth Opportunity
From a partner perspective, Symantec Endpoint Protection offers a winning foundation for growing security product and services revenue. Endpoint Protection will help you build or enhance your security practice with:

  • A comprehensive solution to customers' most pressing security problems that can effectively and efficiently lower their risk exposure.
  • A simplified single-console, single-agent architecture that reduces customer errors and expensive service call-backs.
  • The chance to displace point-product competitors while providing greater customer value.
  • Easy upgrade from Symantec AntiVirus and related solutions
  • Bundles targeted to SMB and enterprise accounts.
  • The opportunity to return to existing customers and provide new functionality and greater value at no additional cost; and to renew maintenance agreements with customers whose contracts have lapsed.

"Armed with Symantec Endpoint Protection, partners have a compelling case to perform security assessments, upgrade antivirus customers and sell new prospects on the unparalleled level of unified protection."

- Kevin Murray, Senior Director, Endpoint Security Product Marketing, Symantec

Complementing Symantec Endpoint Protection solutions is a wide range of cross-sell and upsell opportunities, such as upgrading AntiVirus customers to Symantec Network Access Control 11.0, or selling Symantec Ghost Solution Suite and services for Windows Vista migration. Symantec's respected security and availability portfolio offers everything from single products to comprehensive solutions that improve your ability to sell and support a wide range of customers -- and contribute to greater customer value.

Partner Services and Support
Beyond best-of-breed products, Symantec partners receive extensive support from the Symantec Partner Program, rated five stars by VARBusiness five years in a row. As a Symantec partner, you'll receive sales, marketing, services, training and both pre- and post-sales support. (For details, visit https://partnernet.symantec.com.)

Help Customers Migrate Now

Your customers may feel protected behind their current perimeter firewall and antivirus solutions. But year after year, Symantec's Internet Security Threat Report documents new threats that lastgeneration solutions never anticipated. Help your customers make the decision for comprehensive endpoint protection today!

  • Solutions that rely on patches and updates can't block zero-day attacks or exploits of unpatched vulnerabilities. Advanced intrusion prevention features of Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0 help defend against even-unknown threats.
  • Managed endpoints connected to your customers' primary network may be protected, but what about branch offices or unmanaged endpoints carried by employees, contractors and visitors? Symantec Network Access Control 11.0 helps to enforce security compliance before granting access to network resources.
  • How many point products do your customers use for antivirus, antispyware, firewall, intrusion prevention and device control? Help them save time and money by switching to just one.

Symantec partners can access a broad range of consulting, education and support services that complement Endpoint Protection solutions. These give you the opportunity to increase customer support through a portfolio of support services, and to increase customer and staff technical education via flexible training delivery methods. Symantec services also can increase your ability to manage the life cycle of your customers' endpoint security, helping you expand your security solutions practice.

You can count on Symantec Endpoint Protection and the Symantec Partner Program for the technology, innovation, and support to help you and your customers achieve high returns on your investments, time, money and attention.
