News and Updates from Ingram Micro

November 2006

Ingram Micro Recognized With Industry Honors
Solution providers, along with leading IT channel news source CRN, recently recognized Ingram Micro with three key accolades in the 21st annual CRN Sourcing Study. Derived from a web-based research study of more than 1,200 solution providers, the CRN Sourcing Study reveals changing trends in the way solution providers source products, as well as the key performance metrics in evaluating and working with sourcing partners. Ingram Micro's awards include:

  • No. 1 Preferred Broadline Distributor
  • Most Sourced Distributor (Overall)
  • Most Strategic Broadline Distributor

In other recent awards news, Ingram Micro took home top honors for Best Distribution and Support at CompTIA's Breakaway Member Conference, held in Orlando, Fla. in August. The company also was named Distributor of the Year at the 2006 3Com Partner Summit.

Services Portal Opens the Door to Opportunity
Since its introduction in early 2006, Ingram Micro's free, automated Reseller Services Portal has been delivering a competitive edge to solution providers who take advantage of it -- solution providers like Chris Ferry, vice president of sales for San Diego, Calif.-based Technology Integration Group.

"We are very excited about the capabilities the Reseller Services Portal extends to us," says Ferry. "The ability to track residual service contracts is a serious value-add. (The portal) brings it all together and is a very valuable service assisting our sales long-term."
