Letter from IMSN Business Development Manager, Brian Weaver
Letter Continued ...
The training sessions help your sales representatives effectively deliver the value proposition of IMSN to your clients. Several IMSN members have already hosted these training sessions and have found that, following the sessions, they experience larger, national project deployments along with expanded technical service solution scopes.
Although the IMSN delivers additional service business opportunities, the greatest revenue potential lies in winning sales that otherwise would not be winnable.
In addition, your project deployment team can develop a per-site or per-workstation fixed pricing model for these large opportunities, ensuring a known budget for both the end client and the IMSN lead partner. This activity has contributed to a high volume of current and pending IMSN projects in 2007.
Finally, the IMSN team is working on increasing media exposure for members on projects and large rollout deployments. Our goal is to provide yet another opportunity for you to gain exposure within the IMSN community, as well as exposure in major market publications.
If you are interested in conducting a sales training session with your team, please e-mail me with your request.
Background: Brian Weaver joined Ingram Micro in November 2006. He came to us with more than 15 years of experience in business development and client relationship management. He has worked at Fortune 1000, midsize and small businesses, and has built a successful VAR network/reseller relationship for a software developer. His long-term successes include meeting new business growth objectives in IT services.
Goals: Brian joined our team with the task of growing business volume and expanding high-end deployment and technical work through the IMSN. He strives to increase activity with existing members and bring new large-volume members into the IMSN. And as Ingram Micro's services linecard continues to grow, he will focus on levearging the IMSN to compliment that linecard.

The History: One of Denali Advanced Integration’s clients, a very large and very successful internet domain registrar, has eight data center locations throughout the United States and hosts dozens of internet applications.
The Project: The company needed to inventory all of their complete assets distributed across the eight data centers. Each of the data centers had strict security procedures, so each service partner was required to get security clearance for each of its technicians prior to scheduled on-site visits. During the on-site visits, security personnel accompanied the technicians at all times.
Service partners were provided with an inventory checklist to report all complete assets, as well as where the assets were located and the asset tag, serial and model numbers. The inventory took between three and eight hours to complete.
The Success: Each location’s inventory checklist was completed to the satisfaction of the client and Denali Advanced Integration.

Ingram Micro Channel Advisor Article, Spring 2007
by Tiffani Bova
Increasingly, your customers are seeking complete and proven IT solutions that can help them address complex business requirements, gain competitive advantage or improve upon operational efficiencies. And they expect your company -- and particularly your salespeople -- to exhibit sufficient business acumen and industry knowledge to customize a solution to fit their specific needs.
Since your salespeople are the first, and sometimes the only, line of contact with your customers, they have the ability to positively or negatively affect your overall customer satisfaction and image in the marketplace. Your long-term success rests largely on the effectiveness of your sales force, the individual sales representatives and their competencies, and the organizational structure supporting your go-tomarket activities. read complete article
