INGRAM MICRO TO ACQUIRE TT MICROTRADING IN FINLAND

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Nov. 4, 1997
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire TT Microtrading OY in Finland. The agreement will enable Ingram Micro to complete its Nordic strategy to establish subsidiaries in all Nordic countries by 1997, and to become a true pan-Nordic distributor.

TT Microtrading, a subsidiary of the Finnish Tieto Group, is primarily a software distributor, and the largest Microsoft distributor in Finland with 1996 revenue of 137 million Finnish Mark.

Phil Ellett, president of Ingram Micro Europe, said, "We are very excited about this agreement which establishes Ingram Micro's commitment to key Northern European markets and solidly positions us for rapid growth in the region."

He continued, "TT Microtrading is a sound and well-established company and a respected player in the Finnish market place. The acquisition reinforces Ingram Micro's commitment to profitable growth and our objective of expanding the Nordic market to better serve our customers and manufacturers throughout Europe. We are looking forward to welcoming the more than 30 new associates to the Ingram Micro team."

Said Martti Leino, managing director of TT Microtrading: "TT Microtrading now moves from the hands of one good master to another. The Tieto Group has provided us with an excellent opportunity to reach the position we hold today as well as great trust even in the most challenging times. Our new owner is prepared to develop our business and to support our highly skilled staff to ensure that they will meet the ever increasing requirements of our special field."

Matti Lehti, president and CEO of The Tieto Group, added, "The strategy of Tieto is to concentrate on expert services with high added value. Giving up TT Microtrading will free resources for the rapidly growing core business and improve the relative profitability of the Group. As Tieto has already previously given up PC trade, TT Microtrading has been the only profit center outside the Group's core business. As part of Ingram Micro, the successful TT Microtrading will have good preconditions to continue its positive development."
