INGRAM MICRO NAMES FOUR VICE PRESIDENTSSANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 12, 1999Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, today announced the promotions of four executives to the post of vice president in its corporate offices. Kathleen A. JansonKathleen A. Janson, 49, has been promoted to vice president, corporate communications for Ingram Micro and has responsibility for worldwide public relations, employee communications and community relations for the company. Janson reports to company chairman and chief executive officer, Jerre L. Stead. Janson has more than 20 years of experience in the communications field. Prior to joining Ingram Micro in 1996, she served as vice president, corporate communications for Nat Systems International, an enterprise application development tools vendor based in Northern Virginia. Prior to that, she held the position of vice president, corporate communications for Legent Corporation, now part of Computer Associates. Janson has held similar management roles at Sterling Software Inc. and Systems Center Inc. Lino MartinLino Martin, 38, was promoted to vice president, financial services and North American Treasurer from senior director, financial services and U.S. Treasurer. In his new role, he will be responsible for Ingram Micro's U.S. and Canadian treasury functions, Ingram Financial Services Company and the company's business-continuity planning function. Martin will report to Ron Hardaway, senior vice president and chief financial officer, U.S. for Ingram Micro. Before joining Ingram Micro in 1995, Martin spent ten years with Beckman Instruments Inc. where he became Assistant Treasurer in 1988. In this capacity, he was responsible for managing interest rate and currency risks and cash and liquidity systems worldwide. Martin earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Cash Manager and is a member of the Treasury Management Association. Cheryl A. ShirokeCheryl A. Shiroke, 35, has been promoted to vice president, purchasing operations for Ingram Micro. In her new capacity, she will oversee operations, logistics and systems development of the company's purchasing department. In addition to being responsible for purchasing systems analysis and reporting, she will provide support for various strategic initiatives for Ingram Micro including Frameworks, Total Integration Services, the company's global channel assembly and integration initiative. Her responsibilities will also include the development of ORION, a new purchasing inventory management system, as well as Auction Block, Ingram Micro's interactive Internet auction site. Shiroke will continue to report to Victoria Cotten, senior vice president, purchasing for Ingram Micro. Shiroke most recently served as senior director, purchasing operations. Prior to joining Ingram Micro in 1990, Shiroke was a financial analyst for Mellon Bank, N.A. in Pittsburgh. Kimmerly W. StrohmKimmerly W. Strohm, 37, has been promoted to vice president, investor relations. She is the company's primary representative to the financial community and has created and managed Ingram Micro's financial communications strategies since the company's initial public offering in 1996. She will continue to report to Michael Grainger, executive vice president and worldwide chief financial officer for Ingram Micro. Before joining Ingram Micro in 1996, Strohm held several management positions in strategic planning, product management and investor and analyst relations in the software industry, primarily at Legent Corporation, which was acquired by Computer Associates in 1995.
