INGRAM MICRO ANNOUNCES THE RETIREMENT OF J. MICHAEL KELLY

SANTA ANA, Calif., May 28, 1998

Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, today announced that J. Michael Kelly, senior vice president of management information services (MIS), 61, retired as an executive of the company effective May 1, 1998.

The company has retained Kelly on a part-time basis, primarily for systems integration issues relating to acquisition activity.

Kelly, an 11-year veteran of Ingram Micro, is the architect of the IMpulse system, which supports more than 40 operational functions, including inventory management, order processing, shipping, receiving and accounting. This system is used in all of Ingram Micro's operations, and has multilingual and multicurrency capabilities, as well as the capacity to support every operational function, including finance, sales, logistics and related services.

He has been an important figure in the evolution of the systems aspect of our business, as well as a true advocate of our reseller customers," said Jeff Rodek, president and worldwide chief operating officer of Ingram Micro.
