BUY.COM NAMES HAWKINS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERALISO VIEJO and SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 23, 1999BUY.COM Inc. and Ingram Micro Inc. today announced that Gregory J. Hawkins, 44, senior vice president, global sales for Ingram Micro, has resigned from the company to accept the position of chief executive officer of BUY.COM, effective March 1, 1999. Hawkins brings to BUY.COM a record of superior leadership and the experience to architect successful programs with significant benefit to BUY.COM, its partners, advertising clients and customers. He joined Ingram Micro in 1990, and was responsible most recently for directing the U.S. sales organization, including commercial and field sales, major account and customer program management operations, as well as the education/government and services divisions. In addition, Hawkins was responsible for overseeing the company's global sales programs.
