INGRAM MICRO ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE CHANGES IN EUROPE
Ellett Promoted To Executive Vice President; Grambo
Named COO
SANTA ANA, Calif., June 17, 1998
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of
technology products and services, today announced the promotion
of Philip D. Ellett, 44, from senior vice president and president,
Ingram Micro Europe, to executive vice president and president,
Ingram Micro Europe. In addition, Robert D. Grambo, 34, senior vice
president, telesales, has been named senior vice president and chief
operating officer, Ingram Micro Europe, reporting to Ellett.
Ellett joined the company in January 1996, as senior vice president
and general manager of Ingram Micro's Consumer Markets Division
(CMD) from South Carolina-based Gates F.A., where he served as president
and chief executive officer. He then served as senior vice president
and chief operating officer of the company's European operations.
In May 1997, he was promoted to president of Ingram Micro Europe.
Under his leadership, the European region's operating income increased
by 90 percent in 1997 from 1996. In his new role, Ellett will focus
on strategic planning and acquisition activities; and he will be
directly responsible for the legal, human resources and finance
organizations of Ingram Micro Europe.
Grambo joined Ingram Micro in 1987 and has served in several executive
roles in the areas of purchasing, product marketing and sales. As
senior vice president, he was responsible for telesales, sales operations,
vendor sales, technical support, customer service and CMD for Ingram
Micro's largest region. From 1994 to 1997, he helped lead the U.S.
sales organization to increase revenue from $4.1 billion to $11.5
billion.
Grambo will be relocating from Santa Ana to Brussels and will oversee
sales, marketing, purchasing and operations, and all in-country
organizations with the exception of Germany, which will report directly
to Ellett. Gregory J. Hawkins, senior vice president, global sales,
will assume Grambo's U.S. responsibilities in addition to his current
leadership role for global sales opportunities and U.S. field sales.
Hawkins reports to Sanat K. Dutta, executive vice president and
president, Ingram Micro U.S.
