INGRAM MICRO ANNOUNCES ENSURED SUCCESS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE FOR HP 9000 RESELLERS

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 4, 1998
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, today announced the launch of Ensured Success, a customer program created to provide Hewlett-Packard-authorized resellers with business development tools and opportunities.

Ensured Success was created by Ingram Micro's Enterprise Computing Division (ECD), which is dedicated to HP-UNIX solutions. The program, which targets existing and potential HP Distributor Authorized Resellers (DARs), offers a variety of value-added services to assist in growing their HP 9000 business. DARs can take advantage of benefits, including marketing and advertising services, educational materials, lead generation, a monthly HP 9000 newsletter, technical certification programs, event planning and sales training.

"We are working closely with HP-authorized resellers to identify new and innovative ways to expand their business," said Mary Galvin, vice president, VAR sales for Ingram Micro. "Ensured Success is a strategic approach that has far-reaching benefits created to help DARs of any size. In addition, Ensured Success recruits resellers that have no previous experience providing HP solutions and assists them in becoming HP-certified. We believe this program is a true value add for all resellers."

HP 9000-Related Education And Updates For Resellers
Ensured Success offers all HP 9000-authorized resellers relevant and strategic business tools, free of charge. These include:

  • ECD Newsletter -- monthly reseller solutions newsletter on the HP 9000 marketplace
  • E-mail Updates -- new programs and opportunities available from Ingram Micro and Hewlett-Packard
  • New Product Announcements -- additions to the HP 9000 product line
  • Promotion Announcements -- special discounts from Ingram Micro
  • DAR Rules of Engagement -- brochure that provides DAR guidelines for pursuing new business
  • DAR Business Guide -- reference guide for services and resources available from Ingram Micro and Hewlett-Packard
  • DAR Solutions Portfolio -- highlights multivendor technology solutions
  • Technical Certification Assistance -- to help DARs with product knowledge and competency

Expanding Business Opportunities
