INGRAM MICRO ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE CHANGES IN UNITED STATES, EUROPESANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 18, 1999Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest wholesale distributor of technology products and services, announced today several strategic executive-management changes and promotions in the United States and Europe. Sanat K. Dutta, 49, executive vice president and president North America, will retire from his current position with the company on July 4, 1999. Dutta shared his retirement plans with executive management a year ago. Concurrently, the company announced a number of executive realignments in Europe. These changes are reflected in today's announcement and include Philip D. Ellett, executive vice president and president Ingram Micro Europe; Robert D. Grambo, senior vice president and COO Ingram Micro Europe; and Robert Furtado, senior vice president of global operations and logistics. Dutta will remain an advisor to the newly formed Office of the Chairman. Ellett, 44, will replace Dutta as executive vice president and president North America, and will relocate to the United States to take on his new leadership role on April 1, 1999, reporting to the Office of the Chairman. Grambo, 34, has been promoted to executive vice president and president of Ingram Micro Europe, replacing Ellett. Grambo moved to Brussels, Belgium, in July 1998 to manage the United Kingdom, France, and the Mediterranean, Nordic and Benelux regions. He also will report to the Office of the Chairman. In addition, Furtado, 42, will assume the role of senior vice president, operations for Ingram Micro Europe, and will be responsible for the purchasing, operations and the information systems requirements for the European region.
