INGRAM MICRO NAMES WORLDWIDE PRESIDENT OF FRAMEWORKS, TOTAL INTEGRATION SERVICES

Douglas R. Antone Promoted To Executive Vice President Of Ingram Micro Inc.

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 23, 1998

Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, today announced the promotion of Douglas R. Antone, 45, from senior vice president, marketing U.S., and president, Ingram Alliance, to executive vice president and president of Frameworks, Total Integration Services. He will be based in Santa Ana, Calif., and will report to Ingram Micro's worldwide president and chief operating officer, Jeffrey R. Rodek. The promotion is effective immediately.

Antone will assume global management responsibility for Frameworks, Total Integration Services, the company's worldwide channel assembly and configuration initiative that delivers customized, fully tested systems to resellers. He will oversee sales, marketing, finance and the management of key business relationships associated with Frameworks. In addition, he will continue to hold executive responsibility for relations with the company's three largest global vendors: Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.

The company's Frameworks efforts are expanding rapidly, due to the opening of two of its global integration centers and the recently announced alliance with Solectron, which will ultimately increase the number of global integration facilities to 11. Edward F. Pensel, 45, senior vice president, global configuration operations, will now focus exclusively on reducing costs and time in the supply chain through the creation and implementation of the company's worldwide assembly and related systems. Pensel will report to Antone.

Rodek, worldwide president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro, said, "We are excited that Doug will lead this strategic global initiative. He has driven the success of Ingram Alliance, which launched Ingram Micro into the systems business. In his new role, he will be able to strengthen and expand the crucial relationships he has built with our key vendor and customer partners while managing our comprehensive channel assembly services around the world."

Antone joined the company in 1994 as senior vice president and president, Ingram Alliance. In 1997, he also took responsibility for the U.S. marketing organization, which will be managed temporarily by Sanat K. Dutta, Ingram Micro's U.S. president. Prior to joining Ingram Micro, he served as senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Borland International for seven years.

Antone holds a bachelor's degree in business marketing from Oregon State University.
