INGRAM MICRO NAMES SENIOR
VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING, WORLDWIDE
SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 5, 1998
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale
distributor of technology products and services,
today named Guy P. Abramo, 37, as senior vice
president of marketing, worldwide. Abramo will be
responsible for all global strategic marketing
initiatives, including Frameworks, Electronic
Commerce, overall brand positioning and research.
He will report to Jeffrey R. Rodek, president and
worldwide chief operating officer. Abramo will work
in concert with Ingram Micro's product marketing
department, which will continue to report to the
company's regional presidents.
Abramo joins Ingram Micro from Norwalk,
Conn.-based Yankelovich Partners, the world's
premier market and consumer research firm.
Yankelovich specializes in conducting market sizing
and segmentation studies, brand identity and
preference analysis and customer behavior research.
Prior to Yankelovich, he was managing director,
marketing intelligence for KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP,
responsible for practice management, partner
alliances and business development.
In addition, Abramo is a 12-year veteran of
Mobil Oil Corp., where he held several positions of
increasing responsibility from manager, planning
and business analysis; to regional manager,
administration and controls; to assistant gasoline
business manager, U.S. Division; to manager,
marketing services and business automation,
Americas Division.
Abramo earned a bachelor's degree in chemical
engineering from the New Jersey Institute of
Technology, and holds a master's degree in business
administration from Georgetown University.
