INGRAM MICRO NET INCOME INCREASED 35 PERCENT
FOR THIRD QUARTER 1998
Company reports record sales exceeding $5.7
billion for the quarter.
SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 28, 1998
Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) today announced its
financial results for the third quarter ended
October 3, 1998.
Net income for the quarter was $59.8 million, or
$0.40 per share, exceeding net income in the
previous year's quarter by 35 percent. The company
posted record net sales in the third quarter of
1998 of $5.71 billion, growing 40 percent over the
$4.09 billion achieved in the same quarter last
year.
For the first three quarters of 1998, net income
was $172.0 million, or $1.15 per share, exceeding
net income for the same period in 1997 by 38
percent. Year-to-date, through the third quarter of
1998, net sales for the company grew 38 percent to
$15.81 billion.
