INGRAM MICRO, COMPUTER ASSOCIATES ANNOUNCE
STRATEGIC AGREEMENT TO DISTRIBUTE CA'S ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE TO CHANNEL
CA's Unicenter TNG, enterprise edition products distributed
by Ingram Micro as key management solutions; CA's complete line
available to resellers in strategic vertical markets.
SANTA ANA, Calif., and ISLANDIA, N.Y., Nov. 12, 1998
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale distributor of
technology products and services, and Computer Associates International
(CA), the world leader in mission-critical enterprise-management
solutions, today announced that Ingram Micro will expand its global
enterprise solution offering. Under a U.S. software distribution
agreement, Ingram Micro has named CA as a provider of end-to-end
enterprise management solutions for Ingram Micro's Advanced Software
Division (ASD), a component of its established global enterprise
offering.
Ingram Micro will offer CA's Unicenter TNG and Enterprise Edition
products as key management solutions and will distribute CA's software
to resellers in strategic vertical markets. Ingram Micro also will
distribute CA's Jasmine, Opal and Ingres II, key components of CA's
Harmony solution, to qualified resellers servicing the high-performance
enterprise-computing market.
Ingram Micro already carries CA's Workgroup Edition management
and database solutions, which target the small- to midsize business
market. The expanded alliance marks another milestone in Ingram
Micro's and CA's focus on the global enterprise market.

Dedicated Ingram Micro support teams will focus on servicing the
CA product lines. Ingram Micro sales, marketing, purchasing, licensing
and business-development associates will be available to address
the special requirements of enterprise resellers.
Ingram Micro's increasing focus in the enterprise market has prompted
the company to establish programs to help resellers leverage business
in new and emerging markets. The Path to Profits program offers
resellers a variety of valuable resources to help them grow their
businesses. Qualified resellers will have access to comprehensive
CA training, certification assistance, sales support and marketing
tools. The company also plans to offer a configuration program in
which it will load and test Unicenter TNG on a customer's hardware
-- effectively providing the customer a turnkey system.
