DAVID INGRAM RESIGNS FROM INGRAM MICRO
BOARD
SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 6, 1998
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest wholesale
distributor of technology products and services,
today accepted the resignation of David B. Ingram
from the company's board of directors. Ingram is
currently chairman and president, Ingram
Entertainment Inc., and has been a director of
Ingram Micro since May 1996.
"It has always been my intention to develop
Ingram Entertainment through the exploration of new
markets and opportunities. Recently, certain
strategic investments have presented themselves,
which could potentially subject me to conflicts of
interest." said Ingram. "For that reason, I feel it
is appropriate for me to resign from the Ingram
Micro board."
He continued, "As a significant shareowner, I
have complete confidence in our chairman and CEO,
Jerre Stead, and his excellent management team.
Together, they have delivered consistently strong
financial results, and I trust they will continue
to successfully lead the company in its mission to
maximize shareowner value."
