INGRAM MICRO TO DISTRIBUTE
ENLIGHT COMPUTER CASES; ADDS MANUFACTURER'S
PRODUCTS TO FRAMEWORKS
LAS VEGAS, Nevada, Nov. 17, 1997
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale
distributor of technology products and services,
announced today that it has signed a distribution
agreement with Taiwan-based Enlight, adding the
manufacturer's full line of computer cases to
Frameworks Total Integration Services.
With the agreement, Ingram Micro now offers the
widest variety of Enlight computer cases. Ingram
Micro will carry desktop, mini-tower and mid-tower
computer cases in both AT and ATX format starting
immediately. Resellers can order Enlight cases as
part of the Ingram Micro component product
offering.
According to John William Winkelhaus, II, Ingram
Micro's executive vice president of global channel
assembly, "Ingram Micro takes the business of
configuration and build to order very seriously. We
continue to look to expand and diversify our
Frameworks offering so that we can supply our
resellers around the world with the best selection
of component-level products. This agreement helps
us accomplish that goal. We are very pleased to
bring Enlight computer cases to our customers and
welcome them to our Frameworks family."
Said, John Liang, vice president of sales for
Enlight U.S.A., "We came to Ingram Micro because
they are dedicated to providing their customers
with the highest quality products and services.
We're proud to partner with Ingram Micro to bring
our computer cases to their reseller base. We are
confident that our products will make a valuable
addition to the Frameworks program."
Added Winkelhaus, "Frameworks allows resellers
great flexibility. Our component product offering
allows resellers to build their own systems, or
resellers can choose to outsource configuration to
Ingram Micro."
Frameworks' Range Of
Services
Frameworks offers
six main services designed to give manufacturers
and resellers a complete range of options for
delivering customized systems. They include:
- Unbranded Systems,
which offers mix-and-match combinations of
components from leading manufacturers --
including Microsoft, Intel, Creative Labs,
Western Digital and Fujitsu -- inside Enlight
cases.
- Custom Configuration
Services, which customizes systems to reseller
specifications.
- AcerOpen, which offers
components and custom configurations from
AcerOpen and leading manufacturers.
- Manufacturer-Authorized Channel
Assembly, which provides custom-configured major
name-brand solutions assembled from components
supplied by leading manufacturers, such as the
IBM Authorized Assembler Program (AAP). Similar
channel assembly capabilities are underway for
Compaq's U.S. Channel Configuration Program
(CCP) and Hewlett-Packard's Extended Solutions
Partnership (ESP).
- OEM Components, which
offer reliable, efficient, cost-effective access
to OEM components to resellers that build their
own systems.
- UNIX Configuration
Services, for Hewlett-Packard 9000 Series and
Sun Microsystems servers and
workstations.
Ingram Micro's
configuration and channel assembly services take
place at ISO-9002 certified facilities around the
world. Frameworks is backed by Ingram Laboratories,
one of the industry's leading testing facilities.
