INGRAM MICRO NAMES LARRY
ELCHESEN SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF NEW BUSINESS
UNITS
SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 11, 1997
Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading wholesale
distributor of technology products and services,
recently announced that Larry Elchesen has been
named to the newly created position of senior vice
president of new business units.
In his new position, Elchesen will be
responsible for overseeing several strategic
business units that service growing markets
including the Telecom Integration Division,
Computer Supplies/Accessories Division and
Education Division. He will also evaluate potential
business and growth opportunities for the company.
Elchesen continues to report to Sanat Dutta,
Ingram Micro's president U.S. "Larry's management
skills will be instrumental as we continue to
penetrate new markets to better service our
customers," Dutta said. "There is great potential
for growth in the business units Larry will be
overseeing. With his leadership, Ingram Micro can
begin to further explore new and exciting growth
opportunities."
Elchesen began his career with Ingram
Industries, Ingram Micro's former parent company,
in 1986, as corporate credit manager. He was
promoted in 1988 to assistant vice president,
treasury. Later that year, he became executive vice
president and general manager of Ingram Computer
Ltd. in Canada. Following the Ingram Computer/Micro
D merger in 1989, he became president of Ingram
Micro Canada. In November 1996, he was named
president of Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific.
He recently returned from Asia due to medical
reasons and has assumed his new role as senior vice
president of new business units effective
immediately. Elchesen holds a bachelor of science
degree in finance from Middle Tennessee State
University.
