INGRAM MICRO APPOINTS GORDON SCHOFIELD TO PRESIDENT OF CANADA

SANTA ANA, Calif., and TORONTO, Canada, May 16, 1997
Ingram Micro Inc. announced today it promoted Gordon Schofield, 43, to president of Ingram Micro Inc. (Canada). Schofield, an information technology veteran with more than 22 years experience, will be responsible for managing all day-to-day operations. He succeeds Larry Elchesen.

"Gordon's in-depth knowledge of the Canadian distribution channel, coupled with his excellent business and marketing skills, make him uniquely qualified to run our Canadian operations," said Jeffrey R. Rodek, worldwide president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro Inc.

For the past year, Schofield served as senior vice president of sales for Ingram Micro Inc. (Canada). He joined the company in 1994 as vice president of sales, and prior to that, he served as vice president of sales and marketing for Toronto-based Technology Partners Inc. From 1988 to 1992, he was vice president of sales for Merisel Canada, Inc.

Ingram Micro Inc. (Canada) holds the No. 1 market-share position in the country since 1995 and employs more than 900 associates. The company has a number of strategically located operation centers in Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, as well as distribution centers in Toronto and Vancouver.
