INGRAM MICRO APPOINTS VICE PRESIDENT OF DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS
Tysseland Oversees the Company's Nine U.S. Distribution Centers

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 18, 1996
Ingram Micro Inc. announced today that Terry L. Tysseland, 55, has joined the company as vice president of distribution operations. In this newly created position, Tysseland is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's nine U.S. distribution centers. He is located in Santa Ana, Calif., and reports to Robert Furtado, senior vice president of operations.

"We are very pleased that Terry has joined our company," said Furtado. "Terry brings to this position more than 30 years of solid distribution experience, including international product export and import expertise. His strong industry background, coupled with his leadership and management experience, are a great asset to Ingram Micro."

Tysseland joined Ingram Micro from San Bernardino, Calif.-based The McLane Company, where he served as division president for the past four years. While at The McLane Company, he was responsible for operating distribution centers in San Bernardino and San Diego, Calif., and Las Vegas. He had management responsibility for more than 500 employees.

From 1986 to 1992, Tysseland was division manager of Southland Distribution Center in San Bernardino, where he managed 640 employees. He was instrumental in developing a logistics study to maximize the utilization and increase the cost effectiveness of five regional distribution centers.

Prior to that, he served as regional vice president of Trammell Crow Distribution Corporation for four years. Tysseland began his career with Gulf Atlantic Distribution Service in Houston in 1964 where he served in a variety of executive management positions during his 16 years with the company.

Tysseland earned a bachelor of science degree in marine transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, Long Island, New York.
