INGRAM MICRO TO DISTRIBUTE XTEND PRODUCTS FOR LAPTOP AND NOTEBOOK COMPUTERSSANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 29, 1996 Ingram Micro has already started taking and shipping orders for Xtend products. According to Amy Hoffman, Ingram Micro's vice president of product marketing: "We are very pleased Xtend has selected Ingram Micro as its first distributor. Xtend products will help our resellers round out a complete solution for portable computer customers," she added. Ingram Micro will distribute to resellers Xtend products, including batteries, chargers, DC auto and airline adapters, AC adapters, port replicators and monitor stands. Xtend products are compatible with Compaq, Toshiba, IBM, Apple and Texas Instruments portable computers and other top-tier manufacturers. "Power accessories help mobile users take full advantage of their portable computers. Xtend offers a complete line of accessories for portable computers, including airline and auto adapters, that keep mobile users connected wherever they go," said Mark Rapparport, president of Xtend. As for the new partnership between Ingram Micro and Xtend, Rapparport said: "The channel provides a great growth opportunity for us and Ingram Micro is the undisputed leader in the wholesale distribution channel."
