INGRAM MICRO TO EXPAND ITS BUFFALO OPERATIONS CENTER
The Company will Double the Size of its Existing Operations Center and Employee Base

BUFFALO, New York, Aug. 27, 1996
Ingram Micro Inc. announced today it has received final board approval for the expansion of its East coast operations center in Amherst, New York. The expansion will increase the size of Ingram Micro's operations center by 150,000 square feet to a total of 320,000 square feet. In addition, the company may add up to 1,200 employees to its current workforce of 1,200.

Commenting on the unrelenting support Ingram Micro has received from a number of key executives in the state of New York, David R. Ingram Micro has selected Zaepfel Development Company of Amherst to construct the new office complex. Design and construction work will begin immediately, with completion scheduled for late 1997. Ingram Micro's Amherst operations center provides vendor and reseller partners with unsurpassed support services, in the areas of telesales, credit, customer service, management information systems and technical support.

This new facility marks Ingram Micro's third expansion in Buffalo since 1992. Just last year, Ingram Micro completed the addition of 90,000 square-feet of office space in Amherst.
