INGRAM MICRO EXPANDS
PURCHASING OPERATIONS IN SINGAPORE
Company Relocates Executive to Head Up
Purchasing Operations
SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 29, 1996
Ingram Micro Inc. announced today it has
promoted John Hulina to director of purchasing and
vendor relations for Ingram Micro's Asia Pacific
operations, located in Singapore.
In his new role, Hulina will be responsible for
acquiring new vendors as well as maintaining
relationships with existing vendors for Ingram
Micro's Southeast Asia and Hong Kong operations. In
addition, he will manage the company's inventory
investments in conjunction with local purchasers.
He reports to Ede Phang Ng, Ingram Micro's senior
director and regional manager for ASEAN, Hong Kong
and China markets.
"We are excited that John will join our team in
Singapore," said Ede Phang Ng. "John has been
instrumental in developing many new and important
vendor relationships during his four-year tenure
with the company. His knowledge of inventory
management will be extremely helpful as we're
growing our Southeast Asian operations."
Hulina joined Ingram Micro in 1992 as assistant
buyer and advanced to his current position as
purchasing manager in 1996. He has successfully
managed relationships with a multitude of vendors
in the peripherals, multi-media communications, and
graphics categories. Hulina earned his bachelor's
degree in business administration from the
University of Southern California.
Ingram Micro expanded its presence in Southeast
Asia last year with the opening of a warehouse in
Singapore. Earlier this year, the company opened an
office and warehouse in Kuala Lumpur to better
support its vendors and resellers in Malaysia.
Ingram Micro Inc., headquartered in Santa Ana,
Calif., is the world's largest wholesale
distributor of microcomputer products, with 1995
sales of $8.617 billion. The company's inventory
includes 36,000 products from more than 1,100 of
the world's leading hardware and software
companies. Affiliates in 15 countries sell to more
than 100,000 resellers in 120 countries. Ingram
Micro is the leading provider of advanced
value-added services including technical support,
field services, configuration, and fulfillment.
