INGRAM MICRO PROMOTES SIX ASSOCIATES IN ITS BUFFALO OPERATIONS CENTERBUFFALO, NY, August 21, 1996 "These six individuals have been instrumental in taking our East coast operations center to a new level," said Jeff Rodek, president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro. "Thanks to the commitment and hard work of these associates, their divisions have become much stronger entities." Mike Newcomb was promoted to vice president of credit, consumer markets and international. He will be responsible for all aspects of consumer market credit, international division credit, world wide credit coordination, as well as legal and collection activities. Newcomb joined Ingram Software in 1986 as director of credit and consumer markets. In 1994, he was promoted to senior director of credit, with responsibilities for all aspects of the credit function. He has been instrumental in developing alternative finance programs, and has led teams for system conversion in six different countries. Newcomb will report to Ron Hardaway, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Ingram Micro. Keith Blachowiak, a six-year Ingram Micro associate, was named director of systems development, East. Blachowiak is credited for developing a worldwide system support group for the company's value-added services customers, in addition to increasing Ingram Micro's Electronic Commerce Systems in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He will report to Diane Dillon, vice president MIS Development, East. Also promoted was Bill Brooks, a 10-year Ingram Micro associate, who is now senior director of technical support. Brooks is credited with implementing technology processes that have further enhanced Ingram Micro's support capabilities, and for developing an expanded sales training curriculum. He will report to Robert Grambo, senior vice president of Telesales. Jeffrey Brown was named director of systems development, East. He joined Ingram Micro in 1990, and has been instrumental in creating a development and support team for Ingram Micro's 10 European countries. This includes an inventory sharing system for Europe, the United States and Canada. In addition, Brown developed a reseller region for Europe to support the company's first value-added services customers. He will report to Diane Dillon, vice president MIS Development, East. In addition, David Courtney was promoted to director of customer service, East. Courtney was instrumental in streamlining processes and procedures to help reduce claim backlog and established a quality assurance group to ensure accurate processing of all customer claims. Under his management, the company's customer service center achieved ISO 9002 certification in 1995. He will report to Larry Sullens, vice president of Customer Service and Sales Operations. Joe McCrone, who joined Ingram Micro in 1989, was promoted to director of sales, East. McCrone has held several positions in sales operations and management information systems, prior to joining the sales division, where he was instrumental in creating the fulfillment department. McCrone will report to Lisa Balash Baker, vice president of Telesales. Ingram Micro's Buffalo operations center currently employs 1,100 associates.
