INGRAM MICRO NAMES DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC MARKETING IN ITS VALUE-ADDED SERVICES DEPARTMENTSANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 5, 1996 Smith brings more than nine years of experience in advertising and marketing communications to the position. At Ingram Micro, she is responsible for directing the strategic marketing efforts of the Customer Information Systems group, including customer services on the Internet, such as the recently launched Electronic Catalog and In-depth Manufacturer Information Library. She also oversees the strategic marketing and advertising efforts of the company's Government division, Ingram Alliance, as well as Value-added Services, including technical education, configuration and support advantage. "We are excited that Pam has joined our company to spearhead the marketing and advertising efforts of the Strategic Marketing and Value-added Services groups," says Amy Hoffman, Ingram Micro's vice president of Product Marketing. "Pam's solid industry experience, coupled with her well-rounded marketing background, will add tremendous value to Ingram Micro." Prior to joining Ingram Micro, Smith served as director of corporate marketing of Irvine, Calif.-based Starbase Corporation, for two years. At Starbase, she was responsible for the development, implementation and the positioning of the company's product marketing strategies. From 1988 to 1993, Smith was director of corporate marketing and communications for WordPerfect Corporation in Orem, Utah. While at WordPerfect, she developed the company's first brand strategy, and created aggressive corporate marketing efforts that included the company's first network and cable television commercials and consumer magazine advertising. Smith earned a bachelor of arts degree in advertising and communications from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
