INGRAM MICRO VOTED PREFERRED DISTRIBUTOR FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEARSANTA ANA, Calif., June 20, 1996 "We are very grateful and proud of this prestigious recognition bestowed upon us by our most influential critics -- our resellers," said Jeff Rodek, president and COO of Ingram Micro. "To be chosen by our customers as the Number 1 is the ultimate award and compliment we could ever expect to receive. Our associates work very hard to earn our customers' support every single day." Computer resellers were asked to rate their preferred distributors from the following six product categories: computer systems, software, mass storage devices, networking products, peripherals, and emerging technology products. In addition, resellers also measured distributors' performance across 11 criteria in the same six product categories. Of the more than 250 distributors in the United States, Ingram Micro was the top performer in each product category. Eight in 10 resellers judged product availability as the most important criteria, followed by delivery (accuracy), price, return policies, and access to sales representatives. Among the value-added services offered by distributors, technical support remained the most sought after service.
