Kevin M. Murai is executive vice president, Ingram Micro Inc. and president, Ingram Micro North America. He was appointed to the newly created position when the region was formed on January 2, 2002. Murai leads the integration of the company's former U.S. and Canada regions as a single management team, continuing Ingram Micro’s commitment to improve operating efficiencies and fully leverage the value of the company's talent and expertise across borders. Murai joined Ingram Micro in 1988 and has held a series of executive positions, most recently serving as executive vice president, Ingram Micro Inc. and president, Ingram Micro U.S. He became senior vice president Ingram Micro Inc. and chief operating officer (COO) of Ingram Micro U.S. in January 2000. In December 1997, Murai was named senior vice president, Ingram Micro Inc. and president, Ingram Micro Canada. He had served as vice president of operations for the Canadian region since 1995, when the company took the market share leadership position. His experience and strengths in operations, customer support and information systems have played an integral role in the success of the regions he has led. Murai is based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, Calif. Prior to joining Ingram Micro, Murai served as the manager of management information systems (MIS) for International VERIFACT Inc. in Ontario, Canada. Murai holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
