INGRAM MICRO FURTHER STRENGTHENS WORLDWIDE EXECUTIVE TEAM

Company transitions Frameworks, Total Integration Services into regional operations

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 15, 1999

Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest provider of technology products and services to vendors and resellers, today announced a series of executive changes worldwide. These moves are designed to further leverage the company's management strength, build on its No. 1 global market share position and enhance operating efficiencies.

As a truly global company, it is important that we enable our executives with worldwide perspectives."

Lai Fuan Foo, managing director of the company's Asia-Pacific operations, has been promoted to senior vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific. Foo was the joint founder in 1985 of Singapore-based distributor Electronic Resources Limited (ERL), which Ingram Micro acquired earlier this year. Foo built ERL into one of the largest and most profitable regional distributors in Asia-Pacific, with operations in nine countries and 1998 revenues of more than U.S. $1 billion. In his new role, Foo will report to the office of the chairman.

Gregory M. Spierkel has been promoted to executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Europe. Since July 1997, Spierkel has served as the senior vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific and was instrumental in the acquisition of ERL. He has more than 20 years of broad-ranging experience in global operations and management and has succeeded in managing other complex and large-scale operations throughout the world prior to his tenure with Ingram Micro. He will continue reporting to the office of the chairman.

Robert D. Grambo will return to North America as executive vice president, Ingram Micro and chief operating officer, Ingram Micro North America. He last served as executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Europe. Grambo joined Ingram Micro in 1987 and has held executive roles in the areas of purchasing, product marketing and sales for the company's North American region, where he helped lead the U.S. sales organization in increasing revenue from $4.1 to $11.5 billion between 1994 and 1997. In his new position, Grambo will report to Philip D. Ellett, executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro North America.

To further align services with customers, the company is transitioning its Frameworks, Total Integration Services into regional operations over the next 30 days. Frameworks, one of the company's key strategic initiatives, delivers customized, fully tested computer systems to its reseller customers.

As was originally planned, Frameworks now is ready to be deployed to the regions under the leadership of the regional presidents. Ingram Micro has two ISO-9002-certified Frameworks integration facilities: one in Memphis, Tenn., and the other in Rosmalen, The Netherlands. In addition, the company has co-location facilities in Raleigh, N.C., and Houston, Texas and access to other locations around the world for reconfiguration, channel assembly, unbranded systems and contract manufacturing.

Following completion of this 30-day integration process, Douglas R. Antone, executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president Frameworks(tm), Total Integration Services(tm), will be leaving the company.
