INGRAM MICRO ANSWERS CALL FOR TRAINING WITH ONLINE RESELLER INSTRUCTION

New vendor-sponsored iTRAIN provides resellers with information and training for products, services and solutions

SANTA ANA, Calif., May 12, 1999

Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest wholesale distributor of technology products and services, introduced iTRAIN, an exclusive online-training tool for use by the company's reseller customers. iTRAIN was developed by Ingram Micro in response to a growing need of its reseller customers to bridge the staff training gap for ongoing training on products carried by Ingram Micro.

iTRAIN is an interactive, Web-based training program available only through Ingram Micro at no cost to the reseller. At this time, the program features more than 300 individual training modules from more than 160 manufacturers. In addition to specific information on product lines, iTRAIN includes information on technology solutions and Ingram Micro programs such as Premier VAR Plus, National Service Network, Ingram Systems Group and Partnership America.

Each product module features technical information, competitive analysis, selling methodology and quizzes. Statistics and awards are provided as well as product positioning and tips on selling the particular product highlighted. The results of the quiz portion of the module are recorded and reported to participating vendors. Specific product information can also be downloaded by resellers and shared with their customers as a graphically friendly educational tool.
