Ingram Micro Appoints New Head Of Worldwide Human Resources
Company promotes Matthew A. Sauer to senior vice president
of human resources worldwide, upon retirement of David M. Finley
SANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 16, 2003 -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced the appointment of Matthew A. Sauer to senior vice president of human resources worldwide, upon the retirement of current human resources head David M. Finley in mid-February. Sauer joined Ingram Micro in 1996 and previously served as corporate vice president, strategies and processes, for Ingram Micro's worldwide human resources department.
"Ingram Micro's associates are its greatest asset, and under the leadership of David Finley we have been able to recruit, develop and retain the best talent in the IT distribution industry," said Kent B. Foster, chairman and chief executive officer, Ingram Micro Inc. "Ingram Micro has benefited from David's 28-year career in human resources management. David was responsible for establishing the strong human resources procedures around the world that will ultimately serve as his legacy. As an integral leader in our worldwide human resources organization, Matt will continue the effort to cultivate a diverse and talented workforce and we welcome his expertise on our executive team."
In his previous role, Sauer, 54, was responsible for the development and implementation of the processes to support the company's corporate human resources strategies. Most recently, he led the integration of the worldwide and North American human resources organizations as part of the company's profit improvement efforts this past year. Effective with his appointment, Sauer will lead the human resources strategy for Ingram Micro worldwide.
