Executive Vice President And Chief Strategy And Information Officer

Guy P. Abramo is executive vice president and chief strategy and information officer (CSIO) of Ingram Micro Inc. In this newly created position, Abramo is the chief architect of the company's strategic business and technology direction, with specific responsibilities for corporate marketing, strategy, planning, and global IT initiatives. Abramo's unique position is among the first of its kind for a Fortune 50 company and represents the integral importance of technology deployment to Ingram Micro's value proposition as a leading e-market maker and supply chain management services company.

As head of Ingram Micro's worldwide information technology (IT) organization, Abramo is responsible for the company's IT infrastructure and systems development, as well as defining and developing business applications and e-commerce solutions. Additionally, he leads the corporate strategic planning, marketing and branding organization worldwide for Ingram Micro.

Abramo was named CSIO in September 2000 after serving as chief information officer since January 2000. Prior to this appointment, he was senior vice president of marketing, worldwide, for Ingram Micro, and co-chair of the eSolutions group, the company's integrated approach to its Web initiatives combining IT and marketing efforts.

Abramo joined Ingram Micro in 1998 from Norwalk, Conn.-based Yankelovich Partners, one of the world's premier marketing and consulting firms. Prior to Yankelovich, he was managing director, marketing intelligence, for KPMG Consulting, responsible for practice management, partner alliances and business development.

Abramo is a 12-year veteran of Mobil Oil Corp., where he held several positions of increasing responsibility including, manager, planning and business analysis; regional manager, administration and controls; assistant gasoline business manager, U.S. Division; and manager, marketing services and business automation, Americas Division.

Abramo earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and holds a master's degree in business administration from Georgetown University.
