Ingram Micro now offers IBM's latest Intel-based server, the x440, part of the eServer xSeries line of servers. IBM's latest Intel-based server, the x440, was launched in March and combines Intel's new Xeon processor with IBM's exclusive Enterprise X-Architecture technology, a chipset that manages a number of internal operations and features capabilities typically found only in mainframes. Aimed at e-businesses providing a platform for both server consolidation and large, single-system applications, the x440 is an affordable alternative for Windows 2000/NT, Linux, Novell and other operating system environments. Unlike other enterprise-class servers, it features an expansion capability that allows users to increase their configurations as business requirements change.

IBM's xSeries servers are on display at Ingram Micro's Solution Center, a multifunctional development, testing and training lab for U.S. technology enterprise solution providers and vendor partners.
