Koppen, 59, to executive vice president, Ingram Micro Inc., effective immediately. Koppen, who was senior vice president of Ingram Micro Inc., continues his current role as president of Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific, leading the companys strategic development in the worlds fastest growing IT market. Hans continues to provide clear leadership and understanding of the critical issues for IT distribution in the Asia-Pacific region, said Michael J. Grainger, president and chief operating officer, Ingram Micro Inc. Throughout his history with Ingram Micro, Hans has consistently delivered solid results through integrating acquisitions, cultivating the potential for new markets and overcoming challenges associated with different cultures. His promotion clearly demonstrates the value Hans adds to Ingram Micro and to the region. Previously, Koppen held the position of president, Ingram Micro Latin America, where he expanded Ingram Micros presence and was instrumental in integrating two acquisitions by the company in the region. Additionally, during a tough economic and business environment in 1999, Ingram Micro Latin America notably improved profitability under his leadership. Koppen joined Ingram Micro in 1998 from General Electric Capital Information Technology Solutions, where he served as president, Latin America. Prior to GE Capital, Koppen had a 24-year career with Control Data Corp., serving in management positions in Belgium, Mexico, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.
