Ingram Micro Expands Enterprise Offerings With New Product Solutions
Leading Technology Distributor Introduces High-Performance Network Security And Internet Traffic Management Products To Meet Growing Market Demand
SANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 28, 2002 - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced a broad range of new enterprise products that will expand the company's current enterprise line card and deliver high-growth technology solutions for emerging business opportunities.
In response to the growing demand for Internet security products, Ingram Micro has extended its network security offerings to include products and services from NetScreen Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: NSCN). Ingram Micro also will provide enterprise-class Internet traffic management (ITM) and content delivery solutions from F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the leading provider of Internet traffic and content management products.
"Ingram Micro's strategy for the enterprise market is to provide the broadest offering of platforms and technology solutions," said Sally Stanton, vice president and general manager, sales, Ingram Micro U.S. "Our slate of products from NetScreen Technologies, as well as new offerings from F5, give our enterprise-level VARs and corporate resellers more breadth in deploying complete technology solutions that meet the needs of today's enterprises."
Network Security
Ingram Micro's new network security offerings from NetScreen Technologies enable solution providers to cost-effectively deliver high-performance, integrated network security products to end users. NetScreen develops ASIC-based security solutions that integrate firewall, VPN and traffic management technologies that, unlike legacy security products, offer customers performance, scalability and manageability in one comprehensive security solution.
Products available through Ingram Micro include the NetScreen-5XP, NetScreen-25, NetScreen-50, and NetScreen-100 security appliances, NetScreen-Remote VPN client software and NetScreen-Global PRO Express security management solution. Ingram Micro will offer customers a specialized networking technical support helpdesk to assist customers with integrating NetScreen products into network solutions.
"Working with Ingram Micro, we will be better able to meet the security needs of the enterprise market, and provide improved service to our reseller partners," said Mark Smith, vice president of sales, NetScreen Technologies. "Together, we present a compelling offer to enterprise customers who have spent billions of dollars on IT infrastructure and want to maximize their investments by keeping their information secure."
Internet Traffic and Content Management
F5 Networks, a leading provider of Internet traffic and content management products, is making its first entry into broad-line distribution with a new Ingram Micro distribution agreement. F5 Networks' high-performance Internet traffic management and content delivery technologies provide control for Internet sites or data centers to ensure high availability and Web site performance. Products available through Ingram Micro include F5's port dense traffic management application switch, local and global traffic management appliances, special purpose traffic management products, and content delivery products.
"Distributing our products through Ingram Micro clearly benefits all parties - resellers, customers and F5," said Tom Pettigrew, vice-president of OEM and channel sales at F5 Networks. "Internet traffic management products have become vital components of any business-critical network as the ITM market continues to grow. By partnering with Ingram Micro we are strengthening our channel strategy, and providing more customers access to F5's market-leading products."
