Amazon.com Teams With Ingram Micro To Support New Online Computer Store

Ingram Micro expands its relationship with leading online retailer to provide customized order fulfillment services for new Amazon Computer store

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 29, 2001 - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced it will provide enhanced logistics and product fulfillment services to leading online retailer Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) for its new Computer store located at www.amazon.com/computers. Ingram Micro currently is a distributor for the Amazon Electronics store (www.amazon.com/electronics).

Under the new agreement, Ingram Micro will expand its relationship with Amazon.com to include customized order fulfillment services for desktop and notebook computers and accessories sold through the Amazon Computer store that launched today.

Leveraging the unsurpassed outsourcing capabilities of its IM-Logistics division, Ingram Micro will support the Amazon Computer store with fulfillment services, including customized boxes, packing slips and marketing materials, that will be transparent to the customer. Keeping customer satisfaction top of mind, Ingram Micro and Amazon.com will work together to enhance the computer customer's online shopping experience.
