Ingram Micro To Expand Business Opportunities Between IBM Software Vendors And Customers

Partners in Progress offers solution providers complete spectrum of software solutions

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 16, 2001

Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced Partners in Progress, a program exclusive to Ingram Micro's customers that is designed to provide a complete solution from IBM independent software vendors (ISVs). With an extensive array of services and marketing opportunities, the program will also help ISVs expand their business with solution providers and enhance their go-to-market strategies.

Initial participants in the program include BMC Software and MQ Software.

Program benefits include the following:

  • Dedicated Ingram Micro business development managers, Passport Advantage representatives and expert IBM technical support staff to provide strategic and tactical support to participating ISVs
  • Free IBM technical certifications for programming staff on IBM products such as Data Management and WebSphere
  • Access to an extensive network of value-added services, including financial services and Web-based information on pricing, availability, new products, promotions, programs and services
  • Available funding for business development activities to help generate end-user demand
  • Training programs, marketing support through advertising and other business development opportunities for customers
  • Development of a customized Web site to showcase participating ISV products to customers
  • Linkage to Ingram Micros online reseller communities, including PartnershipAmerica.com, an e-procurement hub for government and education buyers; and VentureTechNetwork.com, Ingram Micro's premier small- to mid-sized business VAR community.
