Ingram Micro U.S. Recognized For Warehouse Excellence

IM-Logistics wins Modern Materials Handling Magazine's 2001 Productivity Award for excellence in distribution backroom services

SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 21, 2001

Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and services, today announced its U.S. logistics services division, IM-Logistics, has been honored by Modern Materials Handling Magazine with its 2001 Productivity Award for warehouse excellence.

The prestigious award from the top logistics trade publication recognizes the accomplishments of IM-Logistics, which provides computer reseller, dot-com, manufacturer and brick-and-mortar retail customers with world-class logistics services, including greater-than-99 percent accuracy and same-day processing on volumes that exceeded 17.9 million orders in the United States in 2000. Highlighted in the award was Ingram Micro's state-of-the-art distribution center in Jonestown, Penn., which serves the Northeastern United States. That facility was recognized as the most productive among the company's seven strategically located U.S. distribution centers.

"We are honored to be recognized by the logistics trade for our warehousing and logistics service capabilities," said Kevin Murai, president, Ingram Micro U.S. "What's most exciting is the level of service we can offer our customers and the continuous improvement process for those services created by our operations team. They have built a logistics engine that is unparalleled in the information technology industry."

Ingram Micro's distribution center and operations are ISO 9002-certified for high-quality, reliable service.

The Modern Materials Handling Magazine's 11th annual Productivity Awards recognize top companies in the categories of warehousing, distribution and manufacturing. Winners are chosen by the editorial staff of Modern Materials Handling Magazine based on a careful selection process, one-on-one interviews and editorial tracking throughout the prior year.
