(NYSE: IM), the largest global provider of wholesale technology products and services, today announced that its Canadian subsidiary has acquired the computer hardware and software distribution business from Richmond Hill, Ontario-based Beamscope Canada Inc. Under terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro will purchase substantially all of Beamscopes existing computer inventory along with existing related customer accounts. This acquisition from one of the largest distributors of computer products to the Canadian retail market further enhances Ingram Micros distribution business to the retail market in Canada. The acquisition of Beamscopes software and hardware distribution business broadens Ingram Micros reach into the Canadian retail channel, said Asger Falstrup, president, Ingram Micro Canada. Ingram Micros experience, infrastructure and resources, coupled with Beamscopes established reach in the retail market, will ensure that these goals are met.
