Effective immediately, Jorge G. Reyes, vice president, accounting and finance for the region, will assume the role of acting president, Ingram Micro Latin America, to temporarily replace Donald Lyman, senior vice president and president, Ingram Micro Latin America, who resigned today to pursue other opportunities. The Latin American region presents sound growth opportunities for Ingram Micro, said Kent B. Foster, chairman and chief executive officer, Ingram Micro Inc. We need a strong individual to lead breakthrough development in the wholesale distribution of technology products, technology reseller services and e-commerce, to orchestrate a single focus throughout the pan-Latin American region. Reyes will work closely with the in-country general managers to lead the daily operations of Ingram Micros Latin American business. As the head of finance and accounting for Latin America, Reyes is responsible for building business metrics, consolidating the financial results and supporting overall business operations. In addition, he works closely with the president to drive the strategy and performance of the region. Reyes came to Ingram Micro in 1998 as a 26-year veteran in global financial management and has held senior executive positions managing the Latin American region for the past six years. Having served as the senior vice president, chief financial officer for Young & Rubicams Latin American region, he was responsible for developing a new financial structure and organization for the advertising agency. Prior to that, Reyes held a position of finance director for Latin America and later directed a subsidiary operation as the general manager of Venezuela for Black & Decker. About Ingram Micro Inc.
