INGRAM MICRO CONFIRMS PRESIDENT FOR U.S. REGION
Kevin Murai Promoted To Executive Vice President, Ingram Micro Inc. And President, Ingram Micro U.S.
SANTA ANA, Calif., March 6, 2000
Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM), the world's largest wholesale provider of technology products and services, today announced
that Kevin M. Murai, 36, has been named executive vice president of the company and president of its U.S. operating division. Murai was promoted from his current position as senior vice president of Ingram Micro Inc. and chief operating officer/acting president of Ingram Micro U.S.
Kevin has proven that he can provide clear leadership for the U.S. organization, said Jerre L. Stead, chairman, Ingram Micro. His experience managing the Canadian region, combined with his unflappable demeanor and clear understanding of the critical issues have enabled him to immediately gain the trust of associates to implement significant programs to enhance the U.S. operation.
I commend this choice and support Kevins leadership style, said Kent B. Foster, chief executive officer and president, Ingram Micro. Kevins approach in leading a team to build consensus and focus on delivering against clearly defined objectives will ultimately create an environment where people can reach their full potential.
During his 11-year tenure at Ingram Micro, Murai has held executive positions with increasing responsibilities in the areas of operations, information systems and customer support. He has achieved significant accomplishments, namely, to lead Ingram Micro Canada in reaching the number one market share position, increasing customer satisfaction and improving profitability.
