INGRAM MICRO APPOINTS NEW LEADERSHIP IN U.S. AND CANADIAN REGIONSCompany Promotes Kevin M. Murai as chief operating officer for the company's U.S. region and Asger Falstrup as senior vice president and president of the Canadian region. Effective immediately, Murai will also assume the role of acting president, Ingram Micro U.S., to fill the position vacated by Robert D. Grambo, executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro U.S., who resigned from the company today. "Kevin and Asger have proven themselves at Ingram Micro in consistently running superior operations in Canada and Northern Europe," said Jerre L. Stead, chairman and chief executive officer for Ingram Micro Inc. "Throughout their long history at the company, both have consistently delivered solid results, and I look forward to excellent leadership from them as we move forward in transforming Ingram Micro for the future." During his 11-year tenure at Ingram Micro, Murai, 36, has held a series of executive positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of operations, information systems and customer support. Since December 1997, Murai has served as senior vice president and president, Ingram Micro Canada. Under his direction, Ingram Micro Canada has extended its number one market share position, increased customer satisfaction and improved profitability. Falstrup, 50, will head up Ingram Micro's Canadian operations with a promotion to senior vice president and president, Ingram Micro Canada. Since November 1996, Falstrup has served as vice president of Ingram Micro's Northern European region, ranked number one in its market. Proven to be a premier leader in the world of technology distribution, he was a co-founder of Datateam Group in 1984.
