RICHARD J. KISH, INGRAM MICRO CIO, TO LEAD GENERAL MOTORS' GLOBAL WEB PROGRAMS

Guy P. Abramo Named Acting Chief Information Officer

SANTA ANA , Calif., Nov. 17, 1999

Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM), the world's largest wholesale provider of technology products and services, today announced that Richard J. Kish, senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO) and co-chair, eSolutions Group, is leaving the company to accept the position of CIO, e-GM, a division of General Motors Corp.

Guy P. Abramo, senior vice president, worldwide marketing and co-chair, eSolutions Group, has been named acting CIO and will lead the company's technology initiatives. The company has initiated a search for a new CIO.

"Over the last two years, Rick has been an asset to Ingram Micro, especially in the development of our electronic commerce capabilities. We wish him well in his new position," said Jerre L. Stead, chairman and chief executive officer for Ingram Micro. "As co-chair of our eSolutions Group, Guy's experience and in-depth understanding of our e-commerce initiatives will allow him to provide strong leadership for our seasoned team of IT professionals. These strengths have played a big part in helping our eSolutions Group dramatically advance our technology products to match our customers' business needs during the past year."

Abramo joined Ingram Micro in October 1998 as senior vice president, worldwide marketing. In March 1999, he was subsequently assigned to form the eSolutions Group, the company's integrated approach to its Web initiatives, announced in May, combining marketing and information technology resources.

Since the launch of the integrated team, Abramo has co-chaired the eSolutions Group through two major Web site upgrades in under a 100-day period. The company's e-commerce success was recently recognized by Inter@ctive Week magazine as a top 10 Internet site, based on online revenue. Earlier this year, the company was also ranked No. 9 by Business 2.0 magazine on a list of 100 Best Companies on the Net.
