INGRAM MICRO NAMES PRESIDENT, INGRAM MICRO U.S.SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 2, 1999Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest wholesale provider of technology products and services to vendors and resellers, today announced the immediate appointment of Robert D. Grambo, executive vice president of the company, to the position of president, Ingram Micro U.S. He reports to the Office of the Chairman, which is comprised of Jerre L. Stead, chairman and chief executive officer; Jeffrey R. Rodek, president and worldwide chief operating officer; and Michael J. Grainger, executive vice president and worldwide chief financial officer. "Ingram Micro is a global company with experienced leaders like Robert who are skilled in driving customer satisfaction and expanding our industry position," Stead said. "Robert is an asset to this organization, well-respected within Ingram Micro and the industry, and the natural choice to lead our important U.S. region." Grambo will lead the company's largest regional operation, with sales of $16 billion for the past four reported quarters. He joined Ingram Micro in 1987 and has held key executive positions in purchasing, product marketing and sales for the company's U.S. region, where he helped lead the sales organization in increasing U.S. revenue from $4.1 to $11.5 billion between 1994 and 1997. During 1998 and 1999, he served first as COO and then as president of Ingram Micro Europe, and gained significant global operating experience. The company also announced today that Philip D. Ellett, executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Americas, has resigned to pursue other opportunities. Concurrent with Ellett's resignation, Ingram Micro's five regional presidents report directly to the Office of the Chairman. In addition to Grambo, the regional presidents are Gregory M. Spierkel, executive vice president Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Europe; Lai Fuan Foo, senior vice president Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific; Hans T. Koppen, senior vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Latin America; and Kevin M. Murai, senior vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Canada.
