IM-Logistics Named To InfoWorld 100 For Excellence In Technology Innovation

World-Class Logistics Provider Recognized For State-Of-The-Art Technology Deployment With No. 35 Ranking

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 10, 2001 -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced its U.S. IM-Logistics division was named to the InfoWorld 100 -- a select group of organizations recognized for their efforts to bolster business and financial success through technology innovation.

Debuting at No. 35 on the list, IM-Logistics joins a roster of leading companies that are building business success through automation in 11 major industries. InfoWorld acknowledged the Ingram Micro division for the successful deployment of IM-First, a proprietary technical fulfillment and logistics system that networks the company's entire distribution infrastructure. The deployment of IM-First represents the largest technology implementation in the company's history.

"IM-Logistics is honored to be recognized by InfoWorld as a top technology innovator," said Mike Terrell, senior vice president and general manager of IM-Logistics, Ingram Micro U.S. "The automation behind our logistics services gives us a competitive edge in delivering logistics solutions that drive costs out of our customers' supply chains and improve their business operations."

IM-First is a next-generation software platform that runs on Cambar Software Inc.'s Axis Warehouse Management System. The software enables 24x7 connectivity among the company's U.S. distribution network to expedite fulfillment and reverse logistics services. Designed by Ingram Micro, the logistics management system ensures the lowest cost structure and highest service-quality to IM-Logistics customers by enabling longer hours of operation and more efficient processing. Ingram Micro began deploying IM-First in February 2001, and by February 2002, all 3.5 million square feet of the company's five U.S. distribution centers will be running on the platform.
