Ingram Micro's IM-Logistics Division To Provide Outsourced Logistics Services For SmartDisk Corporation

Leading Consumer Electronics Manufacturer Selects IM-Logistics To Manage Fulfillment

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 13, 2001 - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced its U.S. IM-Logistics division will manage warehousing, inventory, order management and transportation for SmartDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SMDK), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of advanced consumer electronic products and software solutions. SmartDisk selected IM-Logistics' services as part of its corporate strategy to streamline its infrastructure and optimize its operations.

"Ingram Micro's proven distribution and fulfillment expertise complements our customer service and support while helping us effectively manage inventory and reduce costs," said Mike Battaglia, president and CEO of SmartDisk. "Outsourcing our backend logistics allows us to remain focused on our core competencies of consumer electronics innovation, manufacturing and marketing."

SmartDisk selected IM-Logistics as its fulfillment and logistics provider to ensure an optimum buying experience for its customers and increase overall efficiencies within the supply chain. To accomplish these goals, IM-Logistics' inventory management system will seamlessly receive orders from SmartDisk. Once the electronic order is received, it is automatically sent to one of IM-Logistics' state-of-the-art distribution centers, which completes the fulfillment process and delivers the product to the end user.

"In today's competitive market, effectively managing your supply chain and streamlining business operations are more important than ever," said Michael Terrell, senior vice president and general manager, IM-Logistics, Ingram Micro U.S. "By taking advantage of our services, SmartDisk gains a logistical advantage and can take additional costs out of its business model."
