Intuit Creates Alliance With IM-Logistics For Retail Direct Program

Ingram Micro's IM-Logistics Engine To Provide Fulfillment, Customization And Virtual Warehousing Services For Intuit's Retail Software Products

SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 16, 2001 - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced its U.S. IM-Logistics division is providing outsourced logistics services and supply chain support to Intuit Inc., (Nasdaq: INTU), maker of Quicken., Quicken TurboTax. and QuickBooks. software, payroll services and related small business management solutions.

Under the new agreement, IM-Logistics serves as the exclusive third-party logistics partner for Intuit's retail channel, fulfilling the company's world-class software products and solutions -- Quicken, QuickBooks and TurboTax -- for approximately 7,500 retail stores across the country. The industry-leading logistics provider also will support Intuit with customized and enhanced fulfillment services including tailored merchandising, freight optimization/transportation management, returns/reverse logistics and IT support.

Maximizing productivity throughout the purchasing cycle, Intuit's retailers are seamlessly linked to IM-Logistics' order management system via an electronic data interchange, thereby allowing large volumes of orders to be processed quickly.
