INGRAM MICRO APPOINTS VICE
PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES
ADMINISTRATION
SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 18, 1996
Ingram Micro Inc. announced today that Matthew
A. Sauer, 48, has joined the company as vice
president of human resources administration. He
reports to David M. Finley, senior vice president
of human resources worldwide.
In this position, Sauer is responsible for
developing Ingram Micro's human resources
administration and information systems,
compensation and benefits programs, company policy
and procedures as well as government compliance.
Sauer joined Ingram Micro from a 33-year career
with The Southland Corporation, an international
retail and distribution organization with 27,000
employees and 15,400 7-Eleven stores worldwide. He
last served as corporate head of human resources at
the company's Dallas, Texas, headquarters, where he
was responsible for setting the strategic direction
of the company's human resources plans and
programs.
During his career with The Southland
Corporation, Sauer served in a variety of
management and human resources functions, including
retail operations, employee relations, and
compensation and benefits director.
Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), headquartered in
Santa Ana, Calif., is the world's largest wholesale
distributor of technology products and services,
with 1995 sales of $8.617 billion. Worldwide sales
for the first three quarters of 1996 totaled $8.47
billion. The company operates in 19 countries and

100,000 resellers in 120 countries.
